What are the USB Drive Requirements?
FTM-99Controller on the left and FTQ-64×14 Module on the right

The FTQ module and new fireTEK equipment will use a USB C Drive

Existing FTM-99 Controllers since 2018 use a USB A Drive

USB C to A Adapters will work

A drive that has both USB C and USB A will work

Note: FTM-99 Controllers and FTH-48Fx modules also have a USB B interface for Android Tablets, Computers, and for Charging.

Notes for success:  It is recommended to always test your USB drives ahead of time.  Some higher end USB drives that may have restrictions allowing the FTQ module to write to the drive.  fireTEK recommends not using USB drives that illuminate as they typically pull more current and can affect some functions.

USB C

32GB or smaller

Format as FAT32 (it will NOT work if formatted as NTFS or other file system format)

It is recommended to remove all other files from the drive.  It is acceptable to also have a FTQ configuration file on the drive, if needed.

USB A

8GB or smaller

Format as FAT32 (it will NOT work if formatted as NTFS or other file system format)

It is recommended to remove all other files from the drive.
